  • Isn’t she PRETTY?!?!

Her name is Keylin Josselin and she lives in the Honduras!

She has two brothers and lives with her mom and dad.  Would you say a quick little prayer for her each time you see her?  THANKS!

  • God is the source of all love… because He is love.  He is the one who created all forms of love and yet, we are so weak that our focus is mainly on the manifestations of his creation rather than the ONE who created.

It is a daily challenge to keep the mind on heavenly things as the world has so many weapons of distraction to use.  Our only hope?  Keep our eyes on Christ and support one another in unconditional love – agape.

Lord, where we lack, PLEASE fill us.

  • Isn’t God amazing?

I appreciate your giving me plenty of notice.  I think it will be quite an education experience for you to make the trip to China and I would be a strong advocate for you to go.  That is something I would like to do someday.  I’ve always wanted to go on a mission trip.  So, go with my blessing.  We will plan ahead to make sure we have coverage while you’re away.  Thanks for letting me know and I’ll see you next MondayJ

    Hi Catherine,

I hope you have a decent place to sleep, now that all your furniture is gone!  I am so looking forward to meeting the person behind the “voice”.  It’s very nice up here, not even a cloud in sight, so you should at least feel at home with that, but it does get cold in the mornings and evenings.

About that question, I wanted to request taking some time off in June for a mission trip to China.  I meant to discuss this during the interview process, but admittedly, I was a bit nervous and it slipped my mind.  The dates for this mission trip were set very recently as well.

My church is planning a mission trip to China in late June.  The dates are June 24th – July 4th.  June 24th is a Friday and July 4th is on a Monday.  I should only miss a total of 6 working days.  If at all possible, I would like to be a part of the medical team that goes on this mission trip.

I apologize for not letting you know sooner.  I do realize I just started working and it feels premature to be requesting time off already, but I hope something can be worked out.

I do want you to know that I take this job very seriously, as it is my career and I love being a part of this team.  I don’t want to let anyone down or fall short of the standards set for me.  In fact, I’d like to surpass any set standards and expectations.  I appreciate you taking the time to consider this despite your busy schedule.

    Thank you,

    Jae B. Yu

  • There’s so much joy in watching a fellow brother grow in the Lord… right before your eyes… it is indeed, witnessing God’s handy-work, a.k.a. MIRACLE!

Your Dominant Intelligence is Musical Intelligence

Every part of your life has a beat, and you’re often tapping your fingers or toes. You enjoy sounds of all types, but you also find sound can distract you at the wrong time. You are probably a gifted musician of some sort – even if you haven’t realized it. Also a music lover, you tend to appreciate artists of all kinds. You would make a great musician, disc jockey, singer, or composer.

These tests are so silly… but sometimes right on.  Is it right this time?

  • Jesus and Satan were having an on-going argument about who was better on the computer. They had been going at it for days, and frankly God was tired of hearing all the bickering.

Finally fed up, God said, “THAT’S IT! I have had enough. I am going to set up a test that will run for two hours, and from those results, I will judge who does the better job.”

So Satan and Jesus sat down at the keyboards and typed away.

    They moused.

    They faxed.

    They e-mailed.

    They e-mailed with attachments.

    They downloaded.

    They did spreadsheets! .

    They wrote reports.

    They created labels and cards.

    They created charts and graphs.

    They did some genealogy reports.

They did every job known to man.

Jesus worked with heavenly efficiency and Satan was faster than hell.

Then, ten minutes before their time was up, lightning suddenly flashed cross the sky, thunder rolled, rain poured, and, of course, the power went off. Satan stared at his blank screen and screamed every curse word known in the underworld. Jesus just sighed. Finally the electricity came back on, and each of them restarted their computers. Satan started searching frantically, screaming:

“It’s gone! It’s all GONE! “I lost everything when the power went out!”

Meanwhile, Jesus quietly started printing out all of his files from the past two hours of work.

Satan observed this and became irate. “Wait!” he screamed.
“That’s not fair! He cheated! How come he has all his work and I don’t have any?”

    God just shrugged and said,

    JESUS SAVES

  • Today’s QT

‘So, I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him…. Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you?  How long shall I bear with you?  Bring him here to me.”‘

The disciples could not heal a young boy with epilepsy…although they were given the power to do so.  They had become overly concorned with their own status and lost focus on the source of their power, losing sight of what God wanted.

The QT book notes that these words, “faithless and perverse”, were aimed at the disciples and is considered some of the harshest words spoken by Christ.  He was asking them “How long must I endure your unbelieving and perverse hearts!?!?”

Rather than using their giftings to encourage and uplift others, they only found self-gratification and their motives were found to be selfish.

It’s easy pointing fingers at the disciples… “How could they lose focus when they were literally walking with Christ daily?”

i felt a deep conviction in me, that my giftings have been used to preserve my feelings and not that of others.  Despite this mountain top experience the Lord is graciously allowing, i’ve managed to be selfish with it, trying to maintain my own joy with little regard for certain others.  Since Sunday evening, when the guys were playing basketball, i haven’t been able to shake this gut wrenching feeling… i stand convicted before God to improve and soar to a higher standard of living.

When you know something is right or wrong, you must act quickly, for it is sin to watch apathetically.  Allowing that small sin to reside in you gives the enemy a foothold to build on slowly… and before you’re fully aware, the enemy has slowly robbed you of your joy because that small sin has grown and taken you out of fellowship with our Savior.  Fortunately, the Spirit grieved my soul… and made me aware.  Thank you, Lord.

Joseph faced many trials and tribulations, including near death, but when faced with sin, he chose to run and remove himself from the situation.  Not that i’m facing an adulterous situation, NO, not at all.  i am the only one aware of it, so it seems.  But, the principles apply and so, sometimes, you just gotta drop what you’re doing and run away from sin.  In this case…there’s no shame in running.  ^____^

Lesson for this week, LOVE is more than affection and consideration for another, even if it’s sacrificial… sometimes, LOVE makes necessary heartaches in the ones you love and disciplinary action… so that LOVE is fully realized in all of us.

  • Can we all just smile and get along?

There is no fear in love. But
    perfect love drives out fear,
because fear has to do with
    punishment.
The one who fears is not made

    Subject: Einstein’s Orientation

    Einstein’s Orientation

A university professor challenged his students with this
question. “Did God create everything that exists?

A student bravely replied, “Yes, He did!”

“God created everything?” the professor asked.

    “Yes, sir,” the student replied.

The professor answered, “If God created everything, then God
created evil, since evil exists. And according to the principal that
our works define  who we are, then God is evil.” The student became quiet before such an  answer.

  • Not being able to see where the road ahead is leading – i guess you can take 2 perspectives: anxious or excited.  The unknown instills fear in some people while others get all excited, even needing the unknown’s to feel like they’re alive.

The thing that frustrates me most is when i make plans and it’s not followed through.  i know people have seen me get frustrated when a plan doesn’t work the way it’s “supposed” to.  Bottom line…i probably did a poor job planning.

Then there are times when i lose sight of my goals and direction.  Moments of doubt creep into my mind… “Are you really calling me to ministry?”  “Do you really want me in seminary?”  “When?”  “How?”
i think there’s a burden in each of us to do something… and that burden, though light, seems overwhelming at times, making us feel…inadequate.  but maybe that’s the cross we have to bear…the one thing we have to carry when we want to give up…struggling to remember that Christ is with you and Himself the bearer of the heaviest cross of all… So, He relates exactly to our experiences… and there’s much comfort in that.

I have a good job right now…an opportunity to clear all my loans and debts.  What i am a bit fearful of now is losing sight of what God has for me.  He has things planned that i have yet to fathom in my limited thinking, not that i am “destined” for greatness, but that He’s willing to use me for something great to advance His kingdom.

in moments when i feel inadequate and weak, even worthless and without purpose, i’ve learned that God wants me exactly there.  He doesn’t want me to be miserable and full of self-pity… but He knows that when i’m in that wretched state, i am a vessel ready to be filled by His glory… so i do my best to smile and carry on… and sure enough, He lifts me up every single time.

a glove can never move on its own… only when the hand fills the glove does the glove become animated… and so are we, just gloves laying on the counter, lifeless until the Spiritual Hand of God fills us up.
